How to make anti-UV fabrics?
Normally there are 3 factors when making Anti-UV fabric:
1.Types of fabric fibers
Cotton, viscose, and nylon have higher ultraviolet transmittance; bleached cotton fabrics have higher transmittance;
wool, silk, and polyester have higher ultraviolet absorption;
polyester, due to its aromatic ring structure, has a higher UV absorption capacity; materials containing matting agents are more likely to absorb UV rays.
2.Fabric structure
The denser the fabric, the smaller the amount of UV rays passing through. For the same tissue, the UV protection performance increases with the thickness and weight of the fabric. The porosity of general fabrics should generally be ≤2%.
3.Fabric dyeing and finishing processing
The anti-UV effect is also related to the color depth of the fabric and the type of dye used. Red, black, and whitened fabrics can improve UV resistance. Post-process anti-UV additives can improve UV resistance.
Hello I Tex polyester interlock with 32Gauge knitting, WPI(warps per inch) is 19-20pcs, which means high density. And high density and 1+1 double-faced knitting structure are friendly to UV protection. At least it will pass UPF 50+. And with chemical finishing, the UV protection value will be much higher. So if you are sourcing a kind of high stretch and protective knit fabric, don’t miss our suggestions.
